Jack is due to make his appearance in this world next month. We are anxiously awaiting his arrival. Being the grandmother makes the wait a little easier. Britt says she's just about done being pregnant!
I knitted this blanket for Jack and I have a couple of other projects in the works but Britt reads this so I am not posting them until later :)
This past spring I was at my local yarn store and I saw on the employees knitting a beautiful baby blanket in a nice off white. I asked her if the pattern was available to buy and she said only if I bought the yarn from them. I already had the yarn I wanted so I went home and figured out the pattern. It is a very simple one so it didn't take much thought. Here it is. I think you could probably find it in just about any pattern book or search.
Instructions:
CO 147 sts on size 7 circular needles. ( I used a 40" cable) The blanket is about 36" wide so you could use smaller cables.
K 8 rows.
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7,9 and 10 (RS): K
Rows 2, 4,6,8 (WS) : K5, *P5, k1* repeat between * *to last 10 stitches, P5, k5
Repeat rows 1-10 until desired length.
(I did 27 repeats)
K 7 rows
Cast off.

Oh Dawn...that is gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! That would make a beautiful big-people afghan, too, wouldn't it?
I can't believe it's almost time for the little guy's arrival already! It seems like you just announced the exciting news. But then you haven't been around for a while, huh?
I've missed you!
