My daughter Brittainy, her husband and two kids are visiting family in Florida. Oh, I miss them. They will have been gone two weeks this weekend, but thankfully will be home on Sunday.
Britt called me the other day to tell me that she was having a great time and shared some stories. She told me that on the plane ride to Florida Mackenzie was a bit confused about going to see Grandma and Papa (her grandparents she's never met) because she also calls me and Rich Grandma and Papa. Britt told me that both children received some gifts when they got there and one day Mackenzie had a toy Britt hadn't seen before. She asked Mackenzie where she got it and Mackenzie told her a different Grandma gave it to her. Britt found out that a neighbor of her in-laws gave it to Mackenzie. Then she proceeded to tell me (prefaced by, "don't be offended") but Mackenzie thinks all old ladies that give her presents are called Grandma!!!!
AH, out of the mouths of babes!
take care,
Dawn

Oh my goodness...that is too cute! I have no doubt on earth who her favorite Grandma will always be though!!!
lol That's the very reason my grandchildren have different names for each grandparent. I am Grandma; Johnny is Papa, but the others are Gammy, Gandaddy, Grandaddy, and Mimi.
Oh, I love it; that is precious! I never thought how confusing it might be for a child! Good thing to know she's figured out that she can have lots of Grandmas, but I know you must be the favorite!
That is so cute! We used first names when our kids were little to help keep track of the grandparents. Grandma Carol, Grandma Helen, Grandma Pearl. Then for the grandfathers it was, Papa Vern, Papa Ed and Papa Ted. That was when my grandparents were still alive. Now my kids have 2 grandmothers and one papa.
That is such a cut story. Our little grandson calls us grandma and grandpa but his other grandparents are poppy and honey. Poor little guy will be visiting and say to me...."honey, I mean Grandma.." They get it straight after a while. Just think of the fun you will have de-breifing the poor child....Let us know all the stories. How are the men feeling? Darrell
Too cute! Glad they are having fun!
What!??? You're not old, are you?
Hello Dawn, no wonder Mackenzie is confused. She has only known you as grandma. And you have given her many gifts. Children are so literal and what else would she think. I bet they are having a wonderful time and two weeks is a long time. I know you are missing them Dawn. I hope they arrive home soon safe and sound.
Hugs...Jeanne

Well this is a special trip for the little ones seeing their other grandparents. That'll be a nice trip for them all but I know you do miss them when they aren't around...I'm sure Mackenzie will have all kinds of stories to share with you on Sunday.
have a lovely evening
Judi
