I have mentioned this week that I have recess duty at school. I have an old hat that I made and I don't like it. I made it years ago and it was with really cheap yarn. The pattern is very simple and boring to boot. I have decided to make myself a new one. The one thing I like about the old hat is that it is a loose fit. I don't like a hat clinging to my round face! Last weekend I finally gave up finding a pattern that I liked so I have decided to make one! I got about half way through the hat and decided it was just too small. I ripped it all out and started again with a few more added stitches.
I have it half way done again and I am trying to figure out how I want to work the decreases to look (in keeping with the pattern). I hope to finish it this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed that I have the top of this hat figured out. I'll post pictures when it is done.

Oh my you make such lovely pieces I can't imagine you don't have quite the right pattern for you. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Is it a fancy one?
I have a nice simple pattern for a hat that I made for the ladies in my family a couple of years ago for Christmas. It uses a yarn and then the edging is with a furry type of yarn...hmmmm not furrier but you know.
I should send it to you just in case you like it.

I love knitted and crocheted hats and caps. Back in the 70's after "Love Story" (does anyone remember that?), they were all the rage. My mom made me several and I wore them all winter!

You should check out Knit-A-Square.com. it is a wonderful org. that send knitted blanket's hats and go over's to Africa children... you would be great for it...

I am always impressed with your knitting. I bet your hat will be terrific. I have full faith in anyone who can take a hat that doesn't fit and rip it out to add to the size. WOW, Dawn.
