Lovely Lunch and The Lovely Bones

Britt and I had our day together yesterday. We met in the late morning to head out for lunch but got there about a half an hour before they opened. So we stopped at my mother's house. She lives right down the road from the restaurant. We were the first ones seated and picked the seat overlooking the water. The deck was still decorated with the Christmas garland.

Clancy's, the restaurant we went to, has the BEST French Onion soup. We both had a cup with our lunch.

Britt ordered the turkey club (with the understanding that she could have a bite of my burger LOL!).
I ordered the burger. Doesn't it look WONDERFUL!
After lunch we headed to the theater to see The Lovely Bones. I read the book this past summer and thoroughly enjoyed the book. The movie was true to the story line of the book for the most part. I thought the special effects were well done. There were parts of the movie that had me crying. I think if I were watching it at home I might have cried a little more.

The movie didn't have the same character development as the book (naturally) and some characters in the movie has a much smaller role than the did in the book. The villain was played very creepily (if that's a word) by Stanley Tucci.

I liked the movie. I am glad I saw it. :)

Britt and I had a wonderful time together. We have to plan on doing it again.

As an aside, if my sister Sam is reading this...♪ ♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! ♪ ♫

take care,
Dawn

Dawn, I thought about you yesterday. My husband and I drove past a theater, and I told him you were watching that movie. I'm so glad you girls had a good time, and you definitely need to make a regular thing of this.

Your lunch looks delish, but they forgot the sliced onion on your burger.

Is Stanley Tocci the same as the one who was in Julie and Julia? I read the book and found it so sad.....I am trying to toughen up to watch My Sister's Keeper....
