A sign of spring

I came home from school yesterday and pulled my car up to the mailbox to check my mail. Tim was in the backseat and notice a robin in the maple tree in our front yard. I just happened to have my camera with me and snapped this picture. I really have spring fever. If only the weather would cooperate. We had one really BEAUTIFUL day and then back to cool rainy weather.

Now, for my embarrassing story. In kindergarten we have poems and songs on charts. In May we all hang up charts we made of Raffi's song Robin in the rain. I searched for some coloring page to trace and hang on my chart. One of my friends and fellow teachers came in one day and had to let me know that robins are not blue. I guess I was confused because of the color of a robin egg. I've since fixed my poster and have learned the difference. ☺

take care,
Dawn

Hi Dawn
Rain...yes we've been having it too and the grass IS very green. Thats one good thing. I do however we wish we had had more of it in April, where it seems to belong right?
You captured that robin's picture so well. I love the way he looks so proud up there with the leaves faded out in the background.

Oh dear..*lol*...isn't that silly about the Robin on your chart? You must have been very busy to be confused like that. It had to be the connection with the blue egg.

Have a lovely Mother's Day and weekend.

Hi Dawn,
Great picture. I have to admit I'm not up on all the birds either, guess bluejays are blue for sure. LOL

Good to see you posting again.

Good morning Dawn, your robin photo is outstanding. Gail, our friend visiting this week, is a bird photographer. She will be very envious when I show this to her today. Everyone is still sleeping this am. Your story about the poster is a hoot. Thanks for the chuckle.

We were out all day yesterday shooting flowers. I am beat as I haven't had that much activity in awhile. We were traipsing through the woods shooting wild flowers. LOL. My knee hurts. We did have fun though.

Happy Mother's Day Dawn.

Hugs...Jeanne

Hi, Dawn! What a pretty photo! I love robins...We don't have them in Norway, so I miss their springtime song from when living in PA. Hope your sweet Mackenzie is doing ok now... :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
