Cooking

Do you like to cook! I don't mind it at all. What I really don't like is cleaning up afterwards. That has stopped me from making things I'd like to make many times. I am very fortunate in that Rich does the dishes most every night after dinner. We've made a deal. One person cooks and the other does the dishes. I'm a better cook than he is!

Tim really wants to be able to cook more. The trouble is he doesn't like so many things! He's now mastered scrambled eggs, hot dogs and hamburger (he likes that in a flour tortillia). I've had him help me make spaghetti sauce (I never use the jar kind) and he did well. I think I'd have to write the directions down for him. He did meatballs well too.

What is your favorite thing to cook?

take care,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
I'm not really much of a cook, but around holidays I sorta enjoy it! You are lucky you have help with the cleanup!

I like to cook, but not when I get home from work at night.

And, I like to cook all kinds of dishes, but my favorites involve seafood. I know, I know! You want to come to dinner. ;-)

Johnny and I made the same deal: I'd cook and he'd clean up. As he aged, he got to hate cleaning up and choose to eat out more and more. I'm not complaining!

Hi Dawn
Thats a great plan teaching Tim to cook. Everyone needs to have some favourites or idea of how it all comes together. Great!

You have a good plan with the cooking and cleaning. Oh my thats what I would have chosen also. I like the cooking but not so on the dishes and cleaning....then how is it that although we pretty much cook together all the time because he loves it too...am I washer up person? hmmmmmm.... well he will dry but I like airdrying anyway.

I like cooking Italian..and baking something new and appetizers. Other than that it depends on my moood and I like finding new recipes.

have a great day Dawn...hope your weather has shaped up like ours has finally so far....*crossing my fingers*

I have to tell you I HATE to cook. I never have liked it. I think because my Mom never really cooked, she was a realtor (prime time to show houses is at about dinner time) and we ended up eating out a lot.

I have been trying to cook more though in this economy. Once I am in the kitchen cooking, I don't seem to mind but just getting started seems to kind of overwhelm me. Strange I know!! We do the same thing though if I cook Alan cleans up and if he cooks I clean up.....that works very well!

I love food and I love to cook! My hubby can cook, but I am chief cook and bottle-washer at our house though ;o). We do like to cook together on the weekend though when we have more time to make something and enjoy it. I always make my own spaghetti/pasta sauce too--it just tastes so much more satisfying than the jarred varieties. It's almost too hard to choose one favorite thing to cook though, as I do enjoy cooking pretty much everything! I feel so hungry now... LOL! Happy Day, Dawn ((HUGS))

Dawn, You should compile all those recipes into a book, and pass it along to him when he gets married; you could even add a section with his favorite foods, even if he doesn't cook them himself. That would be a great help to his wife!

Hi Dawn! I also love to cook!
I think my fave thing to make is my enchiladas, or my potato soup.
Shepards pie is "up there" too!
Hope you enjoy your day!

Hi Dawn, I like to cook a lot, but I love to bake cakes and cookies. Trouble is I love to eat them too, so these days I save my baking for when the kids are home or we have others over to help eat it. I love using my slow cooker in the winter and the barbecue grill in the summer.

I will try cooking most anything but I do not like baking! I like to make my own spaghetti sauce, salads, meat dishes like a nice pork roast and casserole dishes. I love the previous post about the gazing ball and Jack.

Hello Dawn, the cook is not the bottle washer when I grew up. I like to cook too. I admit the cleanup is a pain. How cute that Tim is learning to cook. It is good for boys to be able to cook for themselves when needed. Bill will help with loading the dishes and sometimes unload too. He doesn't cook.

I love to make soups and stews. I also love to bake. I just don't bake much anymore. We don't need to eat it.

We returned from Kansas just last night. Actually 3:00 am this morning. I'm tired needless to say.

Take care Dawn. It was nice to see you posting again.

Hugs...Jeanne
