But the countdown is 24 days(after today that is)! Everyday we sing a countdown song to the tune of 99 bottles of beer on the wall...though the kids don't know the orginal version. Today we will be singing 24 days left of school in the year. Next week we hit the teens! Oh, I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm so darn tired I need that summer break. I have signed up for a one week graduate course, and perhaps some professional development on top of that.
In Massachusetts we have to renew our license every five years, with a fee of course! This weekend I have to work on all of the paper work. It is funny that when I first got my degree it was a life time license but now I have to pay to get it renewed!
Here's wishing you all a great start to the weekend.
take care,
Dawn

Twenty-four days left of school in the year. Twenty-four days yahoo!!! I am so happy for you.
You won't drive me crazy. We're in countdown mode here, too. The boys have 27 school days left (counting today). I'm hoping that Annie and I can finish up a few days before that so I have time to get her final report written and turned in by the time the boys finish and we can all be "off school" together. Hope the time goes fast for you, Dawn! (Even though I suspect it's probably a very busy and stressful time trying to get everything wrapped up.)
Oh Dawn you make me sick! You are going to be off allll summer. *sigh*. Lucky you!!
I am in that environment here at the College also with faculty off from mid April...where is the justice eh?
I do have 29 days vacation so that helps...
enjoy the weekend even though you do have a course..and the weather is going to be wonderful ...
have a great day

I used to do that when I was working for the school district as an instructional aide. Last time I did the count down was 7 years ago. waaaaa!!!! I so miss having that kind of a schedule. waaaaa!!!! Right now I am being worked to bone it seems. I can really use a break. I end up working most Saturdays. I NEED a day off so bad. So course I am intensely jealous of you right now. LOL! Have fun with the countdown.
Don't forget to take some "Dawn time", too, you need a rest. My neighbor is a teacher, too, and I look forward to seeing her in the yard puttering about during the summer.
Yeah... Bob had one of those "lifetime" degrees as well! Anything to squeeze more money out of the teachers right?
Happy Weekend to you! That steak marinade sounds delicious! I'm going to write that one down! Your grandadaughter is beautiful, sorry about her elbow. Sounds like she isn't letting it get in her way. What a nice breakdfast for Mother's Day!
We have the same thing in Florida: renew every 5 years for a $75 fee. I'm certified until 2012, but I don't plan to renew again. It'll be a bit sad, I think.
The good thing is you don't pay for the prof. dev. courses that can be used for renewal.
Hey Dawn; I think that teachers and children every where are doing the same thing.... he he Love the photo. Our Schools don't get out until around June 4, My grand son is really looking forward to summer break.... lol. I hope you are your lovely family have a great weekend.
Hugs;
Alaura
Hi Dawn, My kids are out Monday! ...last day of school for us! So we are singing a VERY short song! LOL! Hope you have a wonderful break, and much needed rest this summer! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Woo Hoo Dawn! I love these kinds of count downs! Summer is just around the corner...
Glad you can see that light at the end of the tunnel.
Guess Mississippi teachers have some advantages..we didn't have to pay for renewal..just earn CEU's...and pay for those which was not too expensive!
I only have 4 more days to go...I had a wonderful group of kids this year, but I am so tired out that I am really looking forward to the break. Kindergarten is just exhausting work. There is no way around it.
Hello dear Dawn. I have missed visiting you very much. I can't believe it is a whole year since school was out. Boy it's true...blogging makes the days fly by.
We leave in the morning for the Colorado mountains. I hope we have some service there. I do miss visiting my blogging friends very much. However, I have had fun visiting some friends out here in MO.
We are having a great time visiting lots of family this past week. My SIL has a home with 6 bathrooms and it is lovely here. Her home is huge. We are staying in the finished basement guest area. However, we are ready to start our out West adventure.
Good luck on the course you signed up to do. At least it won't be long. Happy summer days coming soon. I know you need the time off Dawn.
Hugs...Jeanne

That is a sweet countdown...so keep it coming, Dawn! You've been so busy, I know you will savor this summer break. Pity about the renewal fee...Isn't it silly with some of these renewal, and that one has to pay for it. Good to catch up with you here now we're back from our trip...Oh, the jet lag! Happy weekend ahead to you all ((HUGS))
