Today was the 100th day of school. That means only 80 more to go. We had our 100 day celebration today. It's so exciting for the kids to see our days in school number change to 100. One of my favorite projects is to have the children makes pictures of themselves showing what they think they will look like when they are 100 years old. I ask the kids to tell me what they will be doing when they are 100 years old. Some of the answers are so funny. One boy said that he would be bumping into walls and probably be blind. One of the girls said she'd "probably have one of the sticks, a can, yup, a cane". My favorite one was a little girls who said, "When I am 100 years old I will be the best grandma, just like mine". How sweet is that!!!!Today was also the day in school we began our secret valentines. This is for the staff and not the kids, though I feel like a kid when I do this every year. I don't know if today's gift, or the fact that my secret valentine was so clever about giving it to my was my favorite part. I found a heart in my mailbox with a note that said, "Good Morning Dawn. The time has come for Secret Valentine Cheer, Can you guess who your is this year??? Looking to be treated,Go to the place where visitors are greated!!!"I went to the front desk to find a bag for me. Inside was a jar of candy and a beautiful little mini iris plant. Each day for the next four days we will be exchanging gifts with our secret valentine. Its so much fun and a great morale booster.
take care,
Dawn
