One of the little girls in my class drew this picture for me. It's me, and quite frankly, a pretty good
likeness. I told her I wanted to take it home to hang on my refrigerator. Then I decided I would share it with you.
Last week I went out to Wendy's with my friend Ingrid before our knitting class and I ran into a little girl that I had in kindergarten a few years back. She's in 4
th grade now. As I was walking my class to art the other day I passed her and she hopped out of line to give me a hug!
A year ago I ran into another former student at the grocery store. She was a sophomore in high school and told me she had to write an
essay on her favorite teacher and chose me! I have goosebumps just writing that.
I hope I make an impact on all my students. It touches my heart when I see them years (or even months) later and I get these kinds of reactions!
I remember my 6
th grade English teacher, Miss
FitzGerald. I still see her at the grocery store and 33 years after 6
th grade I still smile when I see her and remember that class with her!
take care,
Dawn

It would give me chills, too.
I'm proud of you.
That's some little artist there, huh? How totally adorable.
It must be very rewarding. Probably even makes all the hard work worth it, huh?
Keep up the truly wonderful work!
And have a wonderful day!
I think it takes a special person to be a teacher - being able to touch a life in such a positvie way is such a gift. I'm glad you reap the sweet rewards that go with it. :)
