A great day

Yesterday was the second day of teaching our reading program to the kids. The first day I ended the day feeling like it was unsuccessful. Yesterday was just the opposite. I love when I feel like all the children knew just what we were doing and everyone had a day that was perfect. We learned our first two word wall words and I gave them pom poms to cheer the spelling of the words. The read a couple of sentences and life was great. I recorded two of the girls cheering and posted it on our kindergarten blog.

Even math was great. We played some great sorting games.

After school I had the privilege of watching my grandchildren for a couple of hours.
How cute are they????

I just feel like smiling! I hope today is just as good.
take care,
Dawn

You are right; they are precious! I love those long curls!

A word wall? Dawn, take a picture of that, please.

Dawn,
I can so relate to your post. It seems like some days are wonderful and other days it's like 'what on earth made me choose to do this?'

I hope you have a wonderful day! And both of your grandchildren are adorable!

Good Morning Dawn
It sounds like you had just the perfect day at school. Doesn't it make you feel good when you are teaching them and things are clicking and everyone is having a good time? It makes it all so much more worthwhile...and after having such a nice weekend too. This is great for you!
Your grandchildren are adorable...those pictures make me smile too. :o)

Hi Dawn
me again. Thank you for commenting on my blog about the Rush's Veggies. You asked how I was going to dry the gourd. I am just going to keep it out in an out of sight place and let it dry out on its own.

I painted some small gourds a few years back...one is for Hallowe'en actually and the other is a little Christmas Santa. At that time I just had them thrown someplace and they dried out! When you shake them you can hear the dried inside, inside...then I just painted them. I was told when I bought the large gourd that it would probably take a year.
Have a nice day
Judi

Dawn, cute does not describe how beautiful your grandchildren are in those photos. A gift from above is the best description. Oh how we love them!

I am glad you are smiling and have a positive feeling about your reading in your classroom. That is the reward that makes all the effort of teaching worth everything. smile.

Hugs...Jeanne

Your grandchildren are so adorable. Makes me wish I could just watch my granddaughter for a couple of hours. That is the disadvantage of long distance grandparents. I have only seen her once so far. Also I don't get what a word wall is? You have me puzzled there.

Thanks for explaining the word wall. Makes sense to me now. I used to be an instructional aide in special education classrooms. Yeah a knitting bowl is to keep next to your favorite chair to keep your latest knitting project nearby.
