Seaside Festival

Every Columbus day weekend the neighboring town holds a Seaside Festival. It really doesn't have anything to do with the sea as my friend Beverly thought. There are arts and craft tents, raffles, food, exhibits, concerts, rides for the children, etc.

Britt called me to tell me that she was going and Tim and I met her there. Now, as much as I love craft fairs, I HATE trying to find a place to park. We found a place a little bit away and walked to the fair on the school grounds. Graceful me tripped in a hole and went down on my "backside" and twisted my ankle. I am always doing lovely things like that. The ankle is fine but my back was a little sore most of the day. It's always fun (not!) to fall in public with an audience catching every moment. Tim was very sweet to make sure his mother was ok. He's a good boy!

We waited for Britt to get there and enjoyed the fair with the kids. Mackenzie seemed to enjoy herself. She and I split a chicken lunch. I wish I had gotten some fried dough though.

Jack was his smiling self as usual. He was smiling at his Uncle Tim in this picture.

This is my niece Telia with Mackenzie. Telia is living with Britt and her family. :)
Mackenzie was fascinated with the scarecrows and went over to have a look.

The school mascot, a dolphin, was at the fair and charged me $1 to take Mackenzie's picture (with my camera!) Oh, well, hopefully it is going to a good cause.
Every time we go to the fair (usually the Barnstable County Fair) I make sure to buy Mackenzie something. Today she picked out the horse! While Tim and I were waiting for the family to show up we looked at an exhibit that had an eagle.
How appropriate to be posing in front of our country's flag.

My apologies to my blogging friends for being a bit scarce this week. I've had a lot going on and have been exhausted. I tried to catch up. If I have missed you it was not intentional!

take care,
Dawn

Good morning Dawn! Bless your heart, or should I say ankle and back! Hope your back is feeling much better today! Other than that, it sounds like a great festival. And Mackenzie and Tim were too cute and precious, as always!

Hope you are having a good weekend and able to get some rest! :) ~Take Care of yourself...Rhonda

Dawn, You pulled a 'Jeanne'. I am always in a hurry and falling. These days it is pretty hard to hurry. I hope you didn't hurt yourself too much. Sigh. It is funny what you said about people seeing you fall. My first thought is, did anyone see me? LOL

Now to the fair. Your photos are great. MacKenzie is so darling, as is Jack. Grandchildren are a blessing. They light up our life.
My youngest just turned 10. sigh.
Telia is pretty, and I bet she is a help to Brittiany.

Have a great Sunday and rest your poor body.

Love...Jeanne

Oh, your poor body. I hope you didn't get your back to hurting bad.

I love the pictures! I still say that a festival named Seaside Festival should have seafood. ;-)

First, you catch a cold; then you fall; what's next? Poor baby. You need REST.

The fair looked like fun. That Dolphin clearly was not a Miami Dolphin (the mascot of our football team) or he'd never have charged for a picture.

I'm giving away 3 FREE books. Come see in my sidebar.

Embarrassing to have a fall for sure. But I hope you are better. Back pain is not fun. I have it a lot these days. You got some good pictures of the family. Looks like it was a fun outing. Have a good week and feel better.

Good Morning Dawn,

I am so sorry you fell and I am glad you weren't hurt worse than you were. Looks like a great outing. I love those little pumpkins on the piers.

GREAT, great pictures of everyone and love the eagle in front of the flad....that is BEAUTIFUL!

Sounds like you just need to rest for a while.

Oh, what a fun, fun weekend! (With the exception of your show of grace, that is! And no, I'm not making fun...it's actually nice to know I'm in such good company.) Thanks for sharing your photos...I love seeing your family!
