Spiders!!!

A few years ago I was out on my back deck and saw this HUGE creature by my kitchen window. Our house is always hosting a spider family or two, but nothing like this one. My first thought was to get my camera and then I called Rich to "remove" it. I normally don't mind picking up a spider and tossing it outside but this was just too big. I don't like to feel things moving in the tissue I pick them up in. EWWWW!

Yesterday I started a little spider unit in my class and I'll be sharing this picture with the kids.

Yesterday I also posted that I bought some cornstalks for Britt's house. She borrowed my camera the other day so I snagged these pictures off it when I got the camera back.

take care,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
That is a cute house!

I bet the kids are loving that spider unit! They always seem to like creepy crawly things!

Hope you have a great day,

I think spiders have a right to live anywhere they wish as long as it's NOT IN MY HOUSE.

The corn stalks look so good on each of the porch post.

Hi Dawn, I found your blog through a link on Darlene's and I've really enjoyed visiting and "meeting" your family.

I love the pumpkin farm pictures. We lived in northern NY State for many years, and I do miss it in the Fall.

I would not touch that spider--good job calling in reinforcements to get rid of it.

that is one beauty of a spider. As you know I'm the spider lover :). I also took one back outside yesterday and he was rather large, but not quite as large as the specimen you have here.
What a cute house! Is that yours? I love the fall decor. I'm just getting to mine, believe it or not.
Enjoy your day!

Eew is right. I don't like feeling them move in the tissue either. Eew!!!

You're such a nice mom to get Brittainy some autumn decorations. They look great at her new house.

I think we need to get her some rocking chairs for her front porch. Let's go shopping.

Dawn, that guy wasn't thinking. LOL.

The spider is so scary he doesn't look real and those eyes are eek!

I am so glad to see a picture of Britt's very charming house. The corn stalks look fabulous on the posts with the pumpkins. Good job.

I was at the Dr. and the dentist morning and afternoon. In the middle Babette had a vet visit. sigh. The whole day was shot. Thus my late visit today. Everything is good. Thanks for always asking Dawn.

Hugs...Jeanne
