I think teachers are worse than the kids!

Here I sit Tuesday night writing my post for tomorrow (actually today when you read this). There has been talk of snow and many of the teachers are a buzz with wishful anticipation of a day off. I, of course, have spent too much time and energy searching local weather stations on line to see which will bring me the best news. The snow is supposed to be heaviest in the morning and then turn to rain in the afternoon washing most of the snow away.
That's me over to the right in pink!! Can you see me waving. I sure hope when you read this I will have gotten my call that says I can stay home. The downside is that if we do get a snow day we have to make it up in June!!!
We all have our superstitions about how to ensure that snow day. One teacher insists that if you want to stay home you have to sleep with your pajamas on inside out. (Note to self...remember to turn those pj's inside out!)
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and go to check outside the window. I'm so anxious for the news that I usually don't sleep well LOL!
I'll probably be sitting at my desk in my classroom tomorrow tired and a bit disappointed! The upside will be getting out on school on Thursday, June 18th as scheduled!
EDITED TO ADD: I'm off to school this morning, on very little sleep (not because of the snow!) and it's going to be a long day!!!
take care,
Dawn

Awww, school today after all. I hope you will have a good day in spite of little sleep. Your comment about PJ's inside out reminded me of a cute story about my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Bill. We were camping with them many years ago and when she came out of her tent in the morning her PJ's were on inside out. I mentioned it and she said, "How did that happen?" I don't think it was about snow. Smiling. Ok, I hope that made you smile today.

Hi Dawn
Boo to me too I'm at the College and didn't get a snow day off either. Some outlying areas did. Well I'm sorry you were so excited and how you're sitting disappointed too.
We're supposed to get 20C which is around 9" or so.
Maybe we'll both get sent home this afternoon...did you bring your pjs just in case.

Have a good day anyway....it'll be nice to get out earlier in June!
have a great day

Sorry you didn't get your snow day!!! Did you remember to wear your jammies inside out? We're supposed to have 10-12" by days' end, but the kids know better than to hope for a snow day...takes closer to 2 feet to get a snow day in these here parts.

Good luck getting through the day...and here's to a much better sleep tonight!

I well remember how excited we used to be in anticipation of a snow day...but not too excited when we had to make it up!

Sorry you didn't get your snow day...winter's not over yet though!

Ah well, you'll be grateful in June. I always hated those make-up days. Of course, ours were for hurricanes, not snow.

My daughter was hopin for a snow day too! The teacher she teaches with couldn't believe there was school, it took my daughter 2 hours to get there instead of 40 minutes. Hope your day wasn't too long!

Ha! I always wondered if teachers were more excited about snow days than even than kids were! ;-)

Too funny about the pajamas.

And, I would be that our Jeanne has had hers on inside out once or twice in her life, too.
