Don't forget to leave a post to get your name in the drawing for the neck warmer. I will pick the winner tomorrow!!
Now, to my post for the day. On New Year's Eve day it started snowing and the predictions were for about 8 inches of snow. It doesn't look like we got quite that much, but it was lovely outside, nonetheless!
Yesterday was a cold day. I don't think it ever made it out of the teens. At one point yesterday I noticed the temperature was 11ยบ. It was so cold that my kitchen windows were covered in ice most of the day. They do look pretty don't they?
Somehow the snow and rosebushes don't look like they belong together.
I noticed that the boots I was wearing left a lovely print in the snow! Too bad the pine needle got in the way.
Here's one last picture of a tree in our yard covered with some snow. I never made it out of the house yesterday so these pictures are all I have to share.
For Christmas my daughter, Brittainy bought me the first two books of the Twilight series. I spent most of the day yesterday reading this book. I am so hooked! I called Britt last night to tell her how much I liked it and she said she would get the next two books for me. Then, I'll pass them on to her to read! I know that my blogging friend Darlene really enjoyed the book. I'm looking forward to the movie coming out on DVD so I can see it!
How did you spend the first day of the new year?
take care,
Dawn

Oh Dawn you better stop by my blog and get your Twilight button from my sidebar since you are now addicted! Don't you wonder now what took you so long to read them?!?!
All that snow is just beautiful! We watched TV and played Wii yesterday...never even got out of comfy clothes!
Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS on your 400th post! That is GREAT!
The snow and ice are beautiful to LOOK AT, but I'm glad they're not at my place. I read and enjoyed the first book in the series too and reviewed it on my book blog.

Happy reading!
Congratulations on hitting 400 posts Dawn! The snow looks lovely, especially where Jack Frost painted your window panes!
Join the hooked on Twilight club! I was reading the books the same time as Darlene, and it was fun to compare notes a little bit. The author has a website too and there's some fun extra information there. Happy reading!
Hi Dawn,
Congratulations on your 400th post! That is quite an accomplishment!
I bought the first Twilight book but didn't finish it... Guess I had too much to do, but now I'm going to start over and try to finish it this time!
Love your snow pics!
Diane
Hey Dawn,
I've got the 3rd book. I'll bring it to school on Monday for you and Brit to read.

Oh Dawn, what stunningly beautiful photos! And you know what, I kind of like the pine needles in the footprint...looks very artistic. We got about 15" from that snowstorm, and it was just beautiful. We arrived home from Rich's mom's right before it started snowing, and we didn't have to go anywhere, so it was just perfect.
Annie LOVES that series! In fact, we've promised her we'll head to the bookstore this evening so she can buy the last one with a gift card she got for Christmas.
Happy 400! And a very, very Happy New Year! May 2009 be filled with everything you wish for!
Good Morning Dawn
YOur pictures are beautiful! The ice on the windows is so pretty I'm glad you got a picture of them to share. You had the neatest boots to make snowflake tracks like that. That is sooo fun.
I have never read that series of books. I'm going to have to read what Darlene wrote about them! I must have missed that.
I love trilogies. Did you ever read the Nora Roberts book series? Love those too.
have a great day..
oh my New Years was very mellow yellow...I stayed in all day and just relaxed. I did put away the Christmas decorations, the Love Bunny had to do some of his work. Then I enjoyed a cup of tea and did some blogging to catch up.
I'm glad you had a nice day and your turkey must have been yum!
Judi
Congratulations, Dawn!
We've been missing your family photo on Fridays. Hope you will join us again soon.
I love the photos in today's post - especially the snowflake-design footprint.
Hugs,
Deborah
I loved all your snow pictures! All our snow has been melting this pack week, so I am looking forward to our next fresh snowfall. :-) It is always so pretty.
Happy New Year! May 2009 be full of blessings!
Ooh, Dawn. These pictures are just beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us. I love your boot print.
Keep me posted on the books.
Hello Dawn, I am at my sister's home in Atlanta and this is the first chance to get on my computer since this morning. We drove here to spend a couple of days. It has rained all day.
Your snow pictures are beautiful. I love the ice on your windows. I would read and relax too if it was that cold outside. Your snow print from your shoes is very appropriate with snow flakes. Smile.
Thanks for your comment today. I am sorry it took me so long to come and visit.
I just asked my sister about the books you are reading and she too read them and enjoyed them very much. Now I am anxious to check it out.
Hugs...Jeanne
OMG Dawn, Congrats on your 400th post. I wonder if I will ever get to that many posts. I hope I will. I enjoy blogging very much.
Love...Jeanne
Hey Dawn. Now those are some very beautiful photos. I love the one with your boot, sweet snowflakes on the bottom. My first day of the New Year I spent behind my sewing machine, I am sewing a baby quilt for our new great nephew. I am taking some pictures of it to show everyone. oh and I ate. lol
Have a great weekend.

Hi, Dawn! Happy 400!! Can't wait for 100's & 100's more...I love visiting your happy place here. :o) Such lovely frosty photos...Happy weekend, my friend ((HUGS))
The snow pictures are gorgeous. I like the pine needle in your boot print picture. It adds interest. Living all my life in California, I don't experience much snow at all. It sure would be a different life for me to have snow around. Congrats on your 400th post!!
Thank you Dawn for showing us the snow pics you took. I just love the pictures that Jack Frost made. I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation. I have company from Vermont. We spend most of our time snacking and knitting....Darrlaa
