Twilight

I swear I am always the last one to read the "in" books. Several of my blogging friends (Darlene and Lorrie come to mind) have both talked about reading them. I asked Britt to get one for me for Christmas. She bought me the first two, I borrowed the third and then bought the fourth!
I got totally hooked on the first book. I couldn't wait for one to end so I could start the next. I devoured all 2,500 pages of this story!!!! I made myself slow down on the last one so it would last!! I finally finished on Tuesday night. I usually read right before I go to bed and I am dreaming about the people in the book.
I never saw the movie but I know Darlene did. I think I'll order the DVD when it comes out. I always like to read a book before I see the movie. Once I made the mistake of watching the movie the day after I finished a book and was just too critical of the movie because it didn't match what I'd just read ☺. I googled the movie the other day and looked at the actors who portray the characters in the story. None of them looked liked they did in my mind. I know they were all young, but I had a more "mature" vision of them in my head.
So, I would like to thank all of you who have talked about this book and got me interested. I am thinking of ordering her new book, The Host. Have any of you read that?
take care,
Dawn

My daughter sent me her copies over Christmas break and I read about half of the first one and then forgot about it. I need to go back and finish it. You are right about the movie, the book is usually better and more detailed. I am a snob!! I like details!!! I hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful day. I think our snow may be headed your way.. keeping my fingers crossed that you get a teacher's snow day!!!

Hi Dawn
Nope you aren't the last one I haven't started on any of these books yet. I'm just finishing off one and then I'm going to look for that series too.
They do sound good though I have no clue what they are about.

I did that with the Firm. I really enjoyed the book...loved it! Then I saw the movie and hated it. I was way to critical it seemed most of the book wasn't even in the movie.

Thank you for the review.
Have a great day
Judi

Yep, Dawn you are hooked now like the rest of us!!! The movie (and I saw it twice) was not exactly like the book but I thought was really good. Part of it was the attraction that the characters portray toward each other. You just seem to get sucked in (get it???).....hehehe

I can't wait for the DVD to come out cause I will definitely have it. My daughter is about to die to read the series. I told her you have about 3 more years...by then I'll probably have most of the movies so she can read the books AND see the movies!

I want to read that new book, because if the author was that captivating with these books, I'm sure I would enjoy any other books she writes.

Hey Dawn,

I haven't read any of the books yet. It's definitely on my list to read though...I hope it's as good as what everybody says. I already have the picture of the couple in my mind, because of all the publicity for the movie. I still will probably make my own image of them in my mind.
I read before bed too. If I'm really into a book, I'm usually thinking about it or the characters in the book, and can't wait until I get home to read some more. LOL

Dawn, I just read your comment and cracked up. She may be right. I admit to nothing. LOL.

I am so late visiting again today. I was gone half the day getting a hair cut and doing errands. I keep thinking of all the things I have to take care of before Monday. Things will come to a screeching halt then, for several weeks.

I am very interested in the book you read. It makes me very happy to have a book to keep me mentally busy. I have stockpiled a few but they are all a quick read. I wonder if I can get it at our library. I haven't heard of the book you are thinking about reading.

How did your Chinese week go so far?
I know your children are loving it.

Have a nice evening Dawn. Do you watch Idol? I love it from start to finish.

Hugs...Jeanne

Hi Dawn,I was so sad to be done with the Twilight series. If you look on Stephanie Meyer's website she has written some of book one from Edward's point of view! Take a look when you have time.

Annie just finished Breaking Dawn on Wednesday. She's already talking about rereading them. I'm so glad you enjoyed them so much! You really do a lot more reading than you give yourself credit for, you know. I've always thought you got an awfully lot read considering every thing else you have going on in your life.

I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to reading the Twilight series, but I definitely will be reading The Host. I've read a lot of reviews that make me think I'd really love it. And I really think it's a book you'd enjoy, too.
