What is it with kids and ketchup?

My son Tim is such a picky eater. I have been trying to expand his repertoire of meals. He puts ketchup on EVERYTHING! This past Thanksgiving he ate turkey with ketchup. Sunday night I made a roast beef dinner and he ate it with ketchup. The worst so far has to be this past weekend. We got Chinese food last weekend and Tim ate beef teriyaki with ketchup!!!

I am happy that he is trying new foods but EWWWWW!!!!!!!!

take care,
Dawn

Good morning Dawn. I just caught up on your posts. I haven't heard my grands say wicked yet but I am sure it will get around to them. HA! Love the sweet sweater MacKenzie is wearing. I am sorry you were sick I had a bit of the same thing the day before I left for Fl. It vanished overnight. Whew! Our Ashley was a huge fan of Star Wars and still is. She is 15. LOL. My cousin Bob puts ketchup on everything and he is 53. Yuck!

Have a happy day Dawn and keep smiling and saying hello. Forget those unfriendly people. They must be unhappy.

Love, Jeanne

Ewww is right. The only thing I put ketchup on is onion rings. Should we all purchase stock in ketchup? What brand?

LOL...ketchup on Chinese food...there's just something inherently wrong with that, isn't there? But you know what--I wouldn't put it past my dad to do that, too! :)

Max is much the same...but with mustard.

Dawn, I knew a little girl who put ketchup in her chicken noodle soup, wouldn't eat it any other way! (yeah, it was me). Also, another little girl (not me) used to eat ketchup on broccoli! Go figure!

Eww is right Dawn! I think lots of boys go through a "ketchup phase" though. Hopefully he'll learn to enjoy some of these foods in their "natural state" eventually!

Hi Dawn
Oh dear your Tim sounds like my Richard when he was young!
He was picky and he would dip his cheese and cucumber etc in ketchup but as long as he ate the food that way I let him do it.

For years when he was a teenager someone would give him 2 big bottles of ketchup with his Xmas presents..*g*.

Well its good that Tim is trying new foods that way too...
have a great rest of the evening and week.

hahaha... Teriyaki with ketchup... oh, that is bad! *GAG*... Well, at least he is trying the new foods. Perhaps he will graduated to trying then without so much ketchup soon?! I didn't actually like ketchup as a child or all growing up. I was more of a mustard gal. But came to appreciate ketchup more as an adult--late bloomer, I guess... LOL! Although, my father still puts ketchup on lots of things still--go figure! But kudos to you, Dawn for making things more adventurous with food. :o) Happy Weekend to you all (((HUGS))
