T-shirt Tuesday

The year before last I had twin girls in my classroom. I just loved those girls. They always kept me smiling! During the year they were in kindergarten with me their mom got a job at the high school. She works two weeks past school's end and two weeks before. I offered to watch the girls if she needed me to last summer. We had fun! I also offered my services this summer as well. Today while the girls were here I let them (along with Tim) paint and decorate T-shirts.

Here is Tim's shirt completed. For him less is more. I think he put three different lizards on his.

This is R's shirt. She put a little more on her shirt than Tim did. I think it's a girl thing LOL!

This is her sister M's shirt. Aren't they beautiful!!!!

When they were done they put on their bathing suits and washed my car. Now who got the better deal here!!!

When they were done they decided that they (including Tim) would have a car wash tomorrow. They are planning on charging $5 a car and offering candy or a free toy to children who behave. They were so excited making their sign. I think tomorrow they will be disappointed when the business isn't as successful as they hope. We live at the end of a cul de sac and there in NO traffic. I guess I'll be paying for a car wash again tomorrow.

Their planning reminded me of a time when I was about Tim's age. I had learned how to make a hula skirt in school with crepe paper and an elastic waist band. I remember wearing the skirt over my bathing suit and doing a Hawaiian type dance while I chanted, "Hula, hula, hula, get your coola coola. ". We were selling Kool Aid.

Ah, youth!
