A trip to the library

Ok my blogging friends, I am about to make a confession. I have not been to a public library since I was a child! I know it is hard to believe but whenever I have wanted a book I just buy it! Mostly because after I read a story I feel like I am giving something up if I can't keep the book! Over the years I have given away many of those books but I have to wait years until the desire to keep it passes....imagine those library fines!!
Luckily Brittainy doesn't have that gene. She goes to the library often. She either doesn't have that gene or she's cheap. I'll leave that one alone!
I have bought Tim tons of books over the years and with all that he has can you believe he has NOTHING to read this summer. I broke down and took him to the library today and told him he needed to pick a book that he was going to read. After looking around for a while he came back with those three informational books. I told him he also needed a book that told a story so he picked How to Eat Fried Worms. Tim reads well, he just doesn't like to read. Hopefully if he can go to the library (which by the way is less than 3 miles from my house) maybe he'll want to read more. I'll keep you updated.
In the mean time I have a stack of books that I want to read this summer. I've gotten two read and about 8 more on the list.
take care,
Dawn

I'm just like you - never go to the library either. It just seems like a hassle I don't need.

My boys love to read, and they do frequent the library. Maybe it is a generational thing.

Hi Dawn,
I go to the library often since I retired! Never did while working full time though! Right now I have an overdue book that I'll owe a fine on...been too busy to take it back!
I have an award for you on my blog! Stop by and pick it up when you can.

The Fried Worm book is a classic. He'll love it. The movie is super cute too. I think I lived @ the library as a kid!

Dawn, thanks for visiting my tea party post. it is a last minute post because I forgot Jan ans Tom had a tea party day and I said I would do it. Believe me the pics have all been on other posts.

My daily post is about our view, as if I had all the time in the world. Imagine posting twice in one day!!!Lo

Dawn, I am back, don't laugh, but I wrote this very long comment about your post and I just realized I didn't send it. I better go back to bed.

Anyway, I said I went for years without visiting the library, even though I had a card. One time I checked out a stack of books to read and never read one of them. I am embarrassed to say that. However, now I love going to our library here in Franklin. We go every week.

Have fun at the library, it is good for Tim to love the library.

Dawn like you I have not been to the Library since I was a teenager. I am a book store junkie. Barns and Noble is my favorite book store. I belong to two book clubs. My house looks like a Library. lol; When we lived in Arizona we took the and all went to the Library, it was a huge one, on the collage campus. So I hope Tim loves reading, and you enjoy your reading this summer.

Hugs;

Tim sounds a lot like Gray. Gray reads extremely well, too...he just doesn't particularly love doing it. And like Tim, he leans towards non-fiction. I have to "nudge" him into reading fiction, but I do try to get him to read at least a couple chapters each night. And once he gets going, he really does enjoy it...he just won't admit that he enjoys it. Like last night, I asked him to read a chapter in his book before he switched to his non-fiction choice, and he ended up reading four chapters...still not admitting he liked the book, of course. :)

By the way, I'm still having a hard time thinking of Tim as Tim and not Timmy. Why must they grow up so quickly anyway?!!
