Friday's Favorite Family Foto ~ Four Generations

frame cropped from a full page quickpage I did by Dani Alencar

I found this picture of myself (the baby) my mother, great grandmother and grandmother yesterday while I was looking for pictures to post. It was taken on June 17, 1961 when I was two months old.

My mother did not have a good relationship with her mother for many years and my mother adored her grandmother (my great grandmother) who raised her more so than her own mother. I spent many many years in the house in this picture. We lived with my great grandmother for a few years and then when she died when I was 16 we moved into her house. My mother sold that house about 6 years ago. It still makes me sad thinking that "strangers" our living in our family home. I wish it didn't have to be sold.

Deborah of Pictures Pots and Pens is hosting Friday's Favorite Family Fotos. Hop on over and see who else is participating and take a look at every one's family photos.
take care,
Dawn

Dawn, I always love these generational pictures. I know how much you loved your grandmother. It looks like she is holding a doll - oh, you are a doll.

That is a great photo Dawn. I am sure there is not one of me with that many generations.

I'm going to have to look for one with Kelli, me, my mother, and grandmother.

I didn't get interested in scrapbooking until later years, but if I had back then I'm sure I would have staged a shot!
Hope you have a great day,
Diane

Dawn, what a sweet photo of the four generations. Not everyone has the opportunity to take a generation photo. I remember when we sold our family home in MI. Family lived in that farm house for over 100 years. I never visit MI. without seeing that house. I am sure you feel the same way. It just is never the same is it?

Love ya, Jeanne

Hi, Dawn! That is a lovely photo...and quite a story behind it. It's been a great while since a generational photo on either side of my family. With my sister having a baby in a few months, I hope we'll have some new, bigger family photos soon. Thanks for sharing today...and love that fun framing around your photo! Happy weekend to you & yours ((HUGS))

Morning, Dawn. Aw, what a sweet picture - look at the sweet little Dawn baby! Such a flood of memories flow sometimes when we're looking at old photos, don't they? Did you scrap this page or do a digital scrap? It really looks nice.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
