My knitting

I finally broke down and made something for myself. This sweater is something I have wanted to make for quite a while. When I started it I was afraid it was going to take forever. It took me 11 days from start to finish. I was also very worried that the size would be too small, but it is actually rather roomy, almost too much so. I think if I make another one I will make a smaller size. I am looking forward to wearing this in the winter!! It's 90% wool so it should keep me nice and warm.

I made my daughter a market bag a few months back and she loves it. She asked me to make her another one. I've now made 7 of these and I think I could do it in my sleep. It's a fun knit though and when I'm looking for something to make it's a quick project.

Right now I have a second red sock on the needles and a scarf I will probably give to a friend for Christmas.

Just thought I'd share what I've been working on. I think my next project will be a dragon scarf for my granddaughter.

take care,
Dawn

Hooray for making something for yourself, Dawn! We all need to do that once in a while, yes? ;o) Your sweater is wonderful...I live the comfy style and color! Not going to model it for us? Your market bag is super--I love that lacy look! These would be wonderful for Christmas gifts--reuse, recycle and be pretty at the same time! Thanks for sharing...and have a Happy Day ((HUGS))

Hi Dawn,
I used to crochet...really simple stuff...but knitting always looked so complicated to me!
I can't believe that you did that sweater in only 11 days!

The purse is really cute too! We would burn up down here in a sweater like that! It just doesn't get that cold here!
I'm very impressed!

Hi Dawn~your sweater looks so cozy! I'm terrible at crocheting and knitting! I can see why your daughter wanted you to make her another bag! So cool! I have been working on some yo-yo bags...a bit different than the one I made for the yo-yo challenge. These will be Christmas gifts. They are turning out nicely. I will post photos soon! Have a wonderful day!

Hi Dawn,
WOW...I am impressed...great sweater and bag. I have no clue whatsoever how to knit, crochet or anything of the sort. Love that sweater and you will be toasty and warm in it.

Dawn,You have a great talent for knitting, that's for sure. You have to post your sweater when you wear it. I love the color you used. Is the wool scratchy? Love the bag too.

Thank you for the sweet comment on my post. all the tears made me cry again. My sister saw my post and cried so hard I felt bad for posting her daughter's story. But when she stopped crying she had a big smile on her face and thanked me for the special story about her granddaughter. sigh.

Love, Jeanne
