Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don't remember growing older
When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?
Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
I am feeling like my baby is leaving me! Wasn't it yesterday that he would lie down of the floor and drive his trucks and trains around. Wasn't it yesterday that we watched Bob the Builder together. Wasn't it yesterday that he would play in his sandbox?
It was just yesterday when I was out taking pictures of the mushrooms in my yard I noticed how neglected his construction site sandbox was looking. I don't think he has played in it for a couple of years now. The look of the overgrown grass inside the sandbox made me feel so sad.
These pictures remind me that my little boy is no longer my little boy. In just 4 weeks he will be 10 years old. I know, I know, ten is still young. But I know all too well how quickly time flies. My other "baby" will be 28 next week!
I'm feeling a little nostalgic!
take care,
Dawn

That makes me feel nostalgic, too. Where does time go?
Oh my, I can see how that sight would get to you! You're right, 10 is young, but it's not "little guy" young. I already feel that way about Gray at age seven. It just all goes so fast, doesn't it?
Time does go fast, and the older we get the faster! I used to tell my children 'I don't want you to grow up' and one day a wise friend said 'but wouldn't that be selfish?' and I know it's true.
I wouldn't have wanted to stay a child forever...I wanted to grow up!
I've been a little sad too...today will be my last day to keep Connor. He starts kindergarten tomorrow. I want to make it a great day!
Have a good one,
Diane
Time has a way of creeping up on us. sniff*. I'll be sending my littlest "baby" to Kindergarten this fall. sigh*
Where does time go? SERIOUSLY!
Hugs.
What a terrific sandbox!
My two have long ago grown up and away; it is indeed a sad, sad thing. Grandchildren are wonderful, but children are better. Grab him, Dawn, and give him an extra hug and kiss while you can!
Aw, Dawn, yes those little ones grow up so fast! Like mama always said - when they're little they pull our apron strings and when they grow up they pull at our heart strings. Oh, and song just makes me want to cry!!
Dearest one, you don't Have to go to a restaurant to take a Bathroom Beauty Snap - you can do it in your own bathroom if you'd like. Some of the gals are doing that. I would love to have you shining with our Divas.
Just let me know and be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Dawn, I love that song so much. The words are so meaningful for any parent
Your text is so sweet today.
We are on the way to deliver the grands at last. Ahhhhhhhh sweet quiet.
Love ya, Jeanne
Your story is the story of all mom's! It goes by so fast! Thank goodness for pictures and memories!
Have a great day!
Kim
AWWWWWWWWWWw Dawn I know just how you feel, I remember the first time my little boy who is 27 told me not to kiss him in public any more, only when no one is around. It broke my heart cos he was growing up. The sand box looks so sad and lonely. It is so hard on Mom when the kids grow up and away for us. But they will always be our babies.
Hugs;
Alaura
Hi Daw, and thanks for stopping by! Did I just read your profile correctly? You have a 27 year old? You only look 27 yourself! Holy cow!!!!!!!!!! What vitamins are you taking?
Justine :o )
