I was working on some projects for Christmas last weekend when my old sewing machine started acting up on me and making really loud sounds!!! On Monday, Rich asked me if I'd like a sewing machine for Christmas and went out after dinner to buy one! I thought he was kidding at first. He came home with this and told me he didn't want me to have to wait, and poor Jack needed his Christmas stocking!
That was just the sweetest thing. Now I just need to figure out how to use it. I bought my last sewing maching in the very early 80's. I don't sew nearly as much as I used to. I just might start again. After all, in 8th grade I did win the award at graduation for "Exellence in Home Economics". :)
There will be no coal in Rich's stocking this year :)
take care,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
That is so nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I used to love to sew-I made Kelli some cute clothes when she was little, and did lots of projects...but I hardly ever sew anymore!

That is an excellent machine, and your husband is an excellent guy! Do keep him. As creative as you are, it won't be long before you're busy making me green with envy!
Hello Dawn,
Great news, nice hubby! Keep him!

Good for Rich! You deserve a special treat, and you got a wonderful one. I can't wait to see everything you make.
That is so cool that your hubby gave you a new sewing machine. Have fun figuring out how to use it. Shouldn't be too hard. I can already tell from the picture, that you fill your bobbins on that little spoke on top. Mine has that same feature. Good luck using your new machine.
Oh my gosh!
Oh my gosh!
Yes, they are so wonderful!
I am talking about husbands of course! LOL
That is such a loving thing to do, good for you and GOOD for him!!!
WOW....how FABULOUS! That sure looks like a fancy machine to me! He is a definite KEEPER!!!
Dawn, what a sweet thing for your dh to do. It looks like a good one and I wish you wonderful sewn items from that new sewing machine. smile.
Four more days Dawn, I wish you luck.
Hugs...Jeanne
What a great machine Dawn. I love to sew although I don't do much anymore exept mending and such, I used to make clothing, curtains and do a little quilting. I still have my original machine a Kenmore that I bought in 1977! It's been a real workhorse all these years.
By the way, I took my Christmas tree video with my digital camera, so no real special equipment needed!
What a neat machine, now you too can make monkeys!!!
If my Sweet Pea bought me a sewing machine, it might have tail pipes or some other strange feature that is not compatible with sewing.
Enjoy your new toy.
Oh my Gosh! That was really thoughtful of him. My husband would do the same kind of thing for me. LOL. I never have learned to sew, I wish that I could, just don't think I would have the patience. Enjoy!
How great! I remember your post about the screeching the old machine was making. What a nice guy your hubs is to go out and do this for you. Definitely a keeper :0).
I hope you'll post pics of the stocking you are working on...
